DESCRIPTION

A detached single-family house is proposed in the Can Barri housing estate in Bigues i Riells. The house is open to the landscape and the views, while at the same time it is protected from the sun by large overhangs. The aim is to maximise contact with the surroundings with large windows that allow for indoor-outdoor contact. The sinuous curves of the walls and ceilings and their marked horizontal lines give the house a slenderness and lightness that contrasts with the stone walls of the ground floor.

Inside, the living room acquires double height to enjoy a larger space, while visually connecting us with the distributor of the upper floor. The kitchen is designed as an island to enjoy the views of the garden and the swimming pool and a pergola is integrated as a continuation of the dining room, which in turn hides the volume of the barbecue.

The aim of the project was to create a dream house, modern and luminous, that would magnify the condition of living in contact with nature.
